XBMC - Cache backlog

  • Under Consideration
Today my internet went down, so I spent the next few hours watching TV shows only to find that trakt doesn't keep a backlog of played items that haven't yet been submitted to trakt.

So, I ask if it would be possible to impermanent such a thing?

Supporting some sort of backlog would be a life savior. The internet isn't always as stable as why had hoped :)

I'd also like to see a backlog kept. It would additionally be useful for times when submitting fails for non-connectivity reasons.

Interested in seeing this happen. When internets down for whatever reason, I tend to watch loads more TV! :)

If you are running a nightly build of xbmc (feb 22 or newer) there is a new xbmc plugin out that will sync your xbmc and trakt libraries.

maybe the scrobbling features does it

Right now it is only possible with the trakt utilities plugin to get the seen status not the watched status on episodes and movies in trakt if your internet connection is out. Also i am not sure about this but i think the timestamp will be the moment trakt utilities connects again to the trakt website instead of when you actually watched something.

Same with the Plex Media Server plugin.

Sometimes my internet connection is very slow and a scrobble won't get submitted. It would be great if the API could support submitting scrobbles at a later date. ie they are cached locally until a connection is made to the Trakt servers and they are successfully submitted.
