That's interesting, that you didn't have anywhere WiFi connection for a long time and now all of the sudden you tested it within 30 minutes.

Ok... so, you can not login to the service using Trapster, did you try to log in to trapster from your phone but via browser and not Trapster application?

it's silly, but maybe you're mistyping something?
If you're getting such strange results, that password work from home computer and does not from browser on mobile, I'd say it's typo or man in the middle attack (hard to believe).
Typo can mean also different layout and if you have "'" in password you might be typing "`" from the phone, which might look similar.
Try to set simple password for a second to exclude such issues.
And to exclude mobile operator related problem you really need to try with WiFi.

I used to have a password with letters and numbers.. I have tried in the past 5 months to use only letters, only numbers everything.. I know for a fact that I'm typing the password in correctly in both my phone and the computer.. It doesn't work STILL.. My password and user name is 100% valid and correct but according to my phone it is not, and according to my computer it is !!

I wish it was that easy, but it's not the problem..

Please try connecting via WiFi with your phone and then report back to us.

Thanks,

Shorty, your phone has two ways of connecting to the internet.
1. Through your data plan. You've already tried this and can't log in.
2. You can go to Starbucks and connect your phone to their wireless network. At that point, your data won't be going over the cellular network. This is what everyone wants you to try. It has nothing to do with your computer.

I understand the different ways my phone connects to the internet..
As I stated a few hours ago.. WiFi connection to this program WILL NOT WORK. This application will not work from my phone..
I have tried WiFi from my phone via at work, via picking up anybodys WiFi signal, or even Via Starbucks.. WiFi period will not work for a connection..

Again, My phone WILL NOT connect regularly, WiFi or Any other way from my phone to this program. It states "Invalid User name and password"
This program only works for me via my home computer.......

***************** I dont know how else to let everybody know my phone will not work this way via WiFI, a regular way or any other way *******************

Guess your post about the wi-fi attempt got lost in the constant flood of complaints and reposts of previous info.
Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the software?

It's hard to believe that earlier you were refusing to test WiFi and than instantly you already tested it almost everywhere.
Do you see my point? The time line doesn't match here.

So your next options could be to reset your phone to factory defaults, but that's pretty drastic approach.
The other option is to ask someone who can take your phone and try to troubleshoot this a bit further.

What might be good here is that you'll provide quick summary of:
- hardware spec of your phone (probably vendor + model should be enough)
- OS version (please mark if it's custom build, delivered by operator, or maybe a mod?)
- any add-ons installed, etc?
- any other applications running at the same time.

I'm not Trapster guru, but from what I know it's pretty hard to believe that login to the service via browser works from your PC and does not work via browser from your mobile.
Is the error message generated by browser itself or is it just a page saying that username is incorrect?

Earlier I was not refusing to test WiFI - it was misunderstood!!
I was stating that I DO NOT HAVE WiFi on my home computer, only a cable internet connection. I didn't think that people would think I have a cable internet connection on my cell phone and make the call that I was talking about my home computer,, not my cell phone !!!!!!!!!!

I do not have WiFi on my home computer !! I only have WiFi on my phone, and as I have stated Trapster WILL NOT WORK ON MY PHONE NO MATTER HOW I CONNECT !!!!! WiFi or otherwise !!
My problem is that Trapster on my phone doesn't recognize my user name and password but my home computer does that uses a cable internet !!!!

I have asked verizon and who else knows about phones and they all say that its the application and that I have to get it fixed through TRapster.. Per verizon this is Trapster's error, verizon has nothing to do with it!!!

as i stated 5 months ago.. I have a windows mobile 6.0, Pocket PC,
It is a HTC XV6800. I got it straight through Verizon as a Brand new phone..
No other applications are being ran at the same time
I dont know if its just a page or a browser telling me its a invalid user name and password. It shows up on my phone as a single screen with a error message..

Honestly, I do not see the reason why it couldn't work.

Re Verizon or in general operator, those guys will always tell you similar sentence: "not our application (read you don't pay us anything for that), ain't care... not our problem, go to your application/hw/whatever vendor.

This is what I've heard today from my operator even when I proofed them that they're cutting my connection in the middle after some time.
It's different story, but what they tried to pursue is: not our application, other works, not yours, not our problem and only thanks to persistence and technical explanation of the problem I was able to get technician on my side and start investigating problem. Further down the line between the words I read that it's due to type of my data plan... anyway, that's different story, but just to give you a bit of taste, that you're not alone and that's the same with all ISPs.

Returning to your problem, try to do:
1. open your web browser
2. go to trapster.com
3. login to your account

a. in case if error appears, take a photo and show us exact message
or
b. if you'll successfully login, confirm that

If you'd be able to login via webpage, and it still does not work via Trapster application, verify that you have all required libraries. Check system requirements. You might try to verify also if you have established data connection (if not establish one) and check again.

If everything fails, try to restart phone and repeat the test with application. If it fails verify that you have all the libraries with correct versions and that everything is correctly installed.

If it seems so, maybe you have some strange settings, so you might try to reset to factory defaults and start from scratch installing all libraries and then application.

If after that exercise it still wouldn't work, than someone else will need to help you and verify and double check that problem is really related to your phone.

I bet that the problem is with one of the following:
- system/application settings - ie. proxy
- incorrect pass/typo
- Verizon blocking specific type of connections (but that seems to be excluded as you say that had same problem with WiFi connection)
- library missing/incorrectly installed

I can't think about anything else, sorry.

@Trapster guys, maybe you have kind of debug version which could help troubleshooting this problem and help this guy?
I assume, if the debug version could show stages of connection establishment, that would do the trick, ie.
- opening conneciont
- connection established
- sending username/pass
- result
- opening connection to map service
- connection estbalished
- ... whatever

I can't help any further, the solution is somewhere above already.

Good luck.

LMAO @smalldonganton
I 'could' be a sheep & follow the crowd to get a quote "popular" phone but I chose a phone which outperforms iphones handley.
Aside from expandable memory video (for years) a removable battery, ability to get insurance, FLASH PLAYER, on & on...
read here if you dare.. or simply go with the crowd & stick your head in the sand :)
Just remember I told you so when you follow the lemmings in the crowd over the cliff..

I agree with mmikel13. If a WM works best for someone, for most their needs, then that's what they get. We simply asked Trapster to make their product great across all platforms they offer. Otherwise, why even offer it?

I have a Windows Mobile 6.5 with dual boot Android Foyo 2.2 HTC Hd2 (yes it can be done on a WM phone). I have tried Trapster on both platforms and it didn't seem any better on either. I have tried waiting for Trapster to improve. I got impatient and I have dropped both of them and moved onto WAZE. They have great product on both.

Dave, I have tried the beta Trapster for Android, as I stated above. I did not find it any better than the crappy WM version. Which is why I uninstalled both versions and have moved on to WAZE. It works great on WM and slightly better on Android. I was willing to wait and work with Trapster if you were willing to improve it. From the replies from the reps, I just don't see that happening. Sorry, I am not willing to settle for crap and I have a choice. You should realize you have competition.

ohh... shorty... I've had running trapster without problems on WM... there were some minor things which happen to be related to my ISP.
Then I moved to android one and it was at the time when WM was different built.

cutting long story short, I'm happy user of Trapster! I'm not saying it's the best, but it worked, I had good contact with Trapster representative , Dave...

Cutting long story short, Shorty59401, I don't know why you're lying a little bit here, as you got support from Trapster and I've tried to help you as well even if I'm not anyhow connected with Trapster, besides being user of it.

good luck with your new/other application...

ohh _bugsyb_,
I am not as mad as shorty but unfortunately he is right about support and dedication.
I'm (still) using WM 6.5 and have no plans of switching to Android or iOS. Many months ago (actually > 1 yr) I reported trapster not working at all (showing only a white screen instaed the map). All that changed since then is that no WinMo download is shown anymore (one still can find it in SiteMap - it's from 2009/11).

IMHO any serious or customer orientated company stopping development for a platform does produce a final stable version and have that ready for download.
