New user having problems with placing and deleting traps

I recently created my account and tried to create a known enforcement point on the ipad. I was able to create it but the cone showing its direction the opposite of where the police officer actually looks (at least I think that's what the cone was for, it led to the thumbs up and down icons)
I was able to delete it through the ipad after a few tries even though it said only the user that created it could delete it. I tried again with the same result but could not delete the item.
I moved to the web browser version and found no way to delete the trap or change the direction of the trap. I then tried to add a street view of where the office actually parks but it seems to only keep the image of what the address is on the point marked. My questions are these:

how do I delete traps I have created through the web page on the old map version or the new map version?
How can I change the viewing angle the office is using to spot traffic?
How can I properly add a picture or comment to the trap for more detail such as the local police department are using cameras that automatically run the plate numbers it captures?

The trap I am referring to is:

Thanks for the help.

Looks like I was able to update the picture by adding a comment and street view but while the image changed the comment was not added or viewable at this time.

TechnoTheMage,

The cone you are referring to is just for looks. It's something that allows users to know which trap they are being prompted to vote on.
With any trap, there isn't necessarily a line of sight/viewing angle that we monitor, it's just normally where the officers sit or where they currently are sitting.

Deleting traps: From the old trapmap you should be able to click the trap, then click more information, and it'll give you the option to delete, provided no other user has acted on that trap already. The new trapmap I don't believe there is a way yet as they are still developing that.

To add a streetview picture, this will be using the old trapmap, you can click on the trap from your computer, and to the right you'll see an option that says "Click to Add a new StreetView Tag". From here you can move the streetview picture to your desired place, and add a comment. There currently isn't any way to add a picture/comment to a trap from the iPad or any other mobile device.
Please note: If you are placing a trap because the police department has a camera in position to run license plates, this is not a valid trap unless it is a manned camera location. If it is unmanned, then it shouldn't be reported as we do not have a specific trap for this.

Hope this helps, if you have any other questions please feel free to ask!

Thanks for the response. It's cleared up a few of my questions. I am not sure what happened between when I posted my first trap and now; but the trap I created does not seem to exist any more. I do see another trap which is right next to where I created mine which seems to have been posted a long time ago (2009) but was not listed when I created mine. If it was there when I created mine I would not have created a similair/duplicate.
Is there a reason why this trap is listed now but was not listed a few days ago, even as an inactive trap?

With this trap being absent a few days ago and the one I created now missing, I am wondering why? and how reliable is the map when items reappear and disappear without knowing why?
Like I said before I was able to add a picture but the comment was not added at the same time or even later unless it was and then was deleted when the trap was deleted.
Yes the camera is manned but it automatically runs the plates as it catches them. When plate with violations is found the officer is alerted and the person is pulled over. I think the department only has one vehicle with this setup and changes its location in the area. Once I have a handle on how and why things are working the way they are with the map I can add the various locations in the area.
that was actually why I wanted to post the comment in the first place. Because if anyone wanted to know more about the trap I could list it. It's my understanding there are not many vehicles with this technology in New York.

That was actually a normal response with the TrapMap. When you reported the KEP trap, it merged with an older one that had expired. KEP traps only last 20 days from their last positive vote, unless validated by a moderator. So when you posted your's, it flagged the trap to moderators so it could be merged, which is why you saw this new one reappear. Your trap merged with it however, so it'll show that you voted yes on the trap.

As for making a comment, did you do that using the old or new trapmap?

If the camera is manned, then you can report Live Police when they are in enforcement. From what you've described, I don't think a Known Enforcement Point is needed, unless they setup in the same spot a few times a week. But whenever you do see an officer observing traffic, report Live Police to alert everyone!

Thanks,
Happy Trapping,
