Are you trying this outside? Do you have Location Services turned on?

Both my partner and I have the same problem (we're on the outskirts of Sydney, Australia). It doesn't pick up the map most of the time, but still shows the particular reported areas (such as known enforcement area). For some reason, it's worse on my partner's phone, even though we have the same Blackberry and are with the same carrier. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to where it will show the map and where it won't. The Blackberry map works perfectly though.

Is it not downloading the maps, or are the maps blank?

they don't load fast enough.
When moviing I easily go off the downloaded map and it looks blank.
If I stop at a traffic lights it catches up again.
My other gps software in my phone works very well at all speeds.
can't you like trapster into my built in gps maps? that way it's not constantly trying to download the map.

No, at this moment we can't access the built in maps.

I have the same problem but mine never seems to catch up. All my other GPS apps work great. I'm on a 3g network but it doesn't seem fast enough to download the maps.

I have a nokia97mini. On my wlan at home everything works great. If I try to start it on the road all I get is an error message "Null Pointer" etc. If I start Trapster up at home and drive off in my car it disconnects, then reconnects to my 3G provider. After 200 meters of driving the map disappears never to return.

On the nokia phone, try using access point WAP services instead when on 3G. I found it solve my problems on the N8 and previously on 6710

Thanks for the suggestion. I changed the connection settings and all works great. I don't think I set them to your suggestion but it gave me the incentive to play with a few of the connection settings and all is sweet. Thank you

That is strange, so it only works on Wifi and crashes if you start it on 3G?

Hello Dave,
Thats right. Works great on Wifi. I get Application Error (unhandled exception - Null Pointer - Java.lang.Null Pointer Exception) with my 3G network when starting it away from home Wifi. If I start out at home on Wifi, then drive off in the car it will disconnect from my Wifi, then connects to my 3G and works fine for about 500 meters then the map disappears as if my 3G connection cannot download fast enough. I have removed the program from my phone and reinstalled it but it didn't help. All my other GPS apps work fine. I realize there is not much you can do but I do Thank you for your time.

I think this is part of the problem I'm having but my issues have been more general since the 3.0 update. For starters,

Phone: Droid X
Carrier: Verizon
Signal: 3G

My issues first started out as maps not fully downloading and/or large blank areas on the map when scrolling. This issue appears to have corrected itself but now I have noticed in general that after Trapster has been running for about 2-3 minutes the phone becomes completely unresponsive to any commands. I can push the back button to exit and after about 5 minutes or so I'll finally get the screen asking me if I want to leave it running or not. At this point I say no and once it closes my phone is now back to normal. I really do like the new look and feel but I think there may be a memory leak somewhere.

Try completely exiting and then starting it again and seeing if that resolves the issue. It appears this may be related to the tile issues you saw.

I should probably add that I've done that each time its hung on me and get the same result. I can reproduce the issue consistently by performing the steps above.

We've been working on the map tile server, hopefully these issues will resolve themselves without any changes with the mobile application.

My Android HTC HD2 works fine but my iPad WiFi has the blue screen and tells me to turn on Location Services under General settings, however it is enabled there. Any other ideas?

Try restarting your iPad and let me know if that works.

Do you have coverage?
