Why can't I log in?

I've put in my user name and password a number of times, and it says"Unfortunately, we couldn't verify you user name or password..."
uhh....yeah....what's wrong with that...I know my user name and password and I've typed it right every time...

Megan, try closing firefox, and relaunching it. Then reopening twitbin. also make sure capslocks are off. I can't really debug it more since no one else has had this issue, and we don't see your login info ever.

I had to update my password at Twitter and then Twitbin recognized it, and logged me in.

I still have that problem. I changed my PW at Twitter, but Twitbin still won't let me in.

Is twitter blocked at your work? does your twitter name have any strange characters in it?

I am working from a private Laptop with no restritions for twitter and my twitter-name is NorDoc - not very strange, is it?

I have this same problem. I can access Twitter directly and through other clients, such as TwitKit, but TwitBin gives the following error:

Unfortunately we couldn't verify your username or password, please enter them below and try again

Clearly something's not right, and it seems specific to TwitBin.

Could this be a firewall problem? Twitbin works fine at work with my browser configured to use the company proxy. However, at home, it chokes where I have my own router/firewall setup. I don't understand why this should be an issue. Twitkit works fine everywhere, so I can only assume Twitbin works differently.

i have this problem too. it won't let me log in with info that is definitely correct.
now it has me blocked out entirely because it says i've entered the wrong info too many times. this is ridonkulus. it shouldn't take 2 hours to try to log-into a new app.

I have the same problem. Once I try entering my info and login, it gives me the "Unfortunately we couldn't verify your username or password" error and then won't let me do anything else. The little "working" icon keeps spinning as if it's trying to do something and there is no way to make it stop. Stupid, stupid extension!

What should take 10 seconds for a moron fails miserably and forced me to remove the extension. IF you can fix this simple authentication issue...

I'm also having this problem, despite a firefox update, and a twitbin update. I even posted here a month ago and still haven't heard of a solution

I figured out what was wrong on my end: I had my cookies settings wrong. Once i told Firefox to accept all cookies -- including 3rd party cookies -- everything was cool.

If you think this might be your problem, too, you can change your settings (in Firefox) by going to "Options" (from the "Tools" drop-down menu) and choosing the "Privacy" tab.

I solved the problem by deinstalling twitbin. Everything's fine now.

by deleting all existing twitter cookies and trying to relogin I was finally able, but then on my first attempt to tweet I was told that "sorry twitter has reached it's hourly request limit on my account, bla bla bla"

no there are no other twitter services on my laptop

I'm having this problem, too - obviously, it can't be a problem with Twitter; I logged into this page WITH Twitter. So the problem is Twitbin, and I'm getting seriously close to switching to another app if I'm still unable to log in VERY SOON.

For Twitbin to work, you have to allow second order cookies in your browser.

Twitbin was working fine on my Mac up until a few days ago. Normally I'm logged in automatically, but on this occasion I got an error saying that 'Twitter isn't responding right now'. This stayed the same all day.
The next day I tried logging out and in again, but when I tried to log back in I was told that Twitbin couldn't verify my username and password. It's been that way ever since.
I've tried changing the password, checked that cookies are enabled, and that I can access Twitter using other clients (I use Echofon as well in Firefox, so I can monitor two accounts simultaneously.) Nothing else is giving me a problem, so it's definitely a Twitbin issue.

I have version 2.7 and it is buggy as hell. When I login there are no search tab and logout is somewhere in the middle. Also when I close Twitbin sidebar and open again it asks me to sign in again even if I mark Remember me.

Those things definitely need fixing.

Yeah, mine demands me to log in every time I open the sidebar, despite clicking 'Remember me', and it won't retain my password at all, so I have to look it up and retype it just to log in. I was looking for an Echofon replacement and hoped this would be it, but alas, it's just too much bother with the login problems (and I don't want to enable third party cookies, that's an invitation for spam and tracking like crazy).

Still same issue here... I cleared some cookies, changed my password, but twitbin won't login..
Using FF4.
