Link Censorship - URLGate

  • Problem
  • Updated 4 years ago
Twitter recently changed the way that it handles URLs on the site. They're wrapping other short URLs from their own domain T.CO. This is EXACTLY the sort of behavior that Myspace had when they cloaked every link in the site with msplinks.

Everyone should be allow to use the URL Shortner of THEIR Choice and our Tweets SHOULD NOT be edited. This is an odd form of censorship. Also the tweets remove the HTTP:// part of the URL, this breaks the URL (Make the URL NON-HOT/non clickable) for those of us still using the old style way of Retweeting.

In case you forgot, no one really uses Myspace anymore. Its because Myspace was fighting spammers but pissed off the core community while doing it. Don't be Myspace.

Fix this ASAP.
