My blog is down, no report in Status page

My blog has been down several times this morning. I can't access it at the moment and the error has been reported by other users.

There is no information in the Status page, and I can't access it through Typepad severs either: http://albertesplugas.typepad.com/

Please advise asap

When I attempted to view your domain mapping setup, I received the following message:

;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

You should contact your current registrar or host regarding this error.

Until it is corrected with your registrar/host, you'll need to deactivate the domain and republish your blog.

You find complete instructions here:
http://kb.typepad.com/id/151

If you need help deactivating or reactivating your domain mapping, please feel free to open a help ticket and we'd be happy to help!

Yes, it was a problem with my registrar. The issue is resolved now. Thank you! :)

So everybody who cannot access their Typepad blogs (me, too) has a registrar/host problem?

I'm unable to access any of my blogs. When I go to the root (nuthatch.typepad.com) I get my main blog in HTML only. Yesterday, there were numerous problems with the Compose editor showing up in HTML only, or not working at all that I struggled through.

This stuff happens every time Typepad rolls out "improvements." It's ridiculous.

My registrar (mydomain.com) is reporting no problems. Redirects to other web sites (not on Typepad) work fine. When I go to the non domain-mapped Typepad blog URLS (e.g., "nuthatch.typepad.com/beans" rather than "www.coffeehabitat.com" I get the same mess of unformatted HTML.

Hi Julie,

When I check your blog, I'm not seeing any issues at all. Both www.coffeehabitat.com and nuthatch.typepad.com work fine for me. Additionally, nuthatch.typepad.com/beans is working as well. Are you still having issues with your domain?

Are you behind a firewall, by any chance? You might want to check your security levels since we're able to get to your blogs via the TypePad and the domain mapped URLs easily and without error.

We're sorry that you're experiencing some frustration, though! Please let us know what you find.

Thanks,
Melanie

As noted on the status blog, some users had problems, which Typepad resolved. It was a Typepad and not registrar issue.

Hi Julie!

As you can see, the person who reported the issue originally has replied to say that it was indeed a registrar problem, which has now been solved on the registrar's end. Several people are reporting that we/they are all able to see your blog. We're happy to help, but if you're still not able to see it, we need more information. You can provide it here, or by opening a help ticket. :-)

Thanks!

Hi Julie,

The update on the status blog, which we just updated, was related only to about a 5 minute period just now. It didn't affect any blogs this morning.

If you have any problems with any of your blogs, please let us know specifically what you are seeing.

Thanks so much

hello guys, im sad to hear that you're experiencing those kinds of problems, but i guess typepad has nothing to do with it. i haven't experience any so far. Typepad is doing well for me and when i checked your links, i was able to land on your page so okay ^^ i even found your blogs awesome ^^ . I guess the problem is in your computer? it really happened sometimes specially when there are functions that we accidentally click.

Say for example in my experience. when i was browsing my typepad dashboard. i was shocked when the fonts in my dashboard suddenly turned so big. Only to find our that i accidentally zoomed it. And im glad because the support team was able to figure it out. they advice me to reset the zoom in the "view" function in my browser toolbar.

I hope your problems will be resolved very soon ^^ goodluck and more power to you guys.

All morning (7 to at least 9:45 AM, when I left the house) none of my Typepad blogs were available correctly. I either got a time out notice (when going to URLs that had mapped domains) or garbled HTML, non-graphic versions when I went to the Typepad URLs. I have other web sites through the same registrar using the same redirects, and they worked fine. When I was next able to look, at around 11:15 AM, they were okay.

I reported this here because I had other problems in Compose the previous afternoon, and got the email from Typepad that they were rolling out the "new" Typepad to all. It has been my experience the last several years that new roll outs are accompanied by new problems, so this post caught my eye and I responded.

I generally do not report errors or problems unless I think it may be a big, persistent issue, and roll out issues sometimes are. Otherwise, I wait them out or work around them. I've been a Typepad blogger since early 2005, and had nothing but praise, especially for the support team, in the early days. Now it is so tedious to construct a help ticket that I don't bother. (I know Typepad support knows me, and is familiar with this complaint; I won't air examples publicly now.)

So I don't know what else to tell you. Do I think this was some sort of Typepad issue? Yes. I have had problems that Typepad attributed to me, my coding, our outside sources only to finally admit something was wrong on their end or they did not know what happened. I feel the same way about Six Apart/Typepad as I do about Microsoft: they have some great products with wonderful functionality, but also a growth plan that seems to steam ahead hoping to be all things to all people, as fast as possible, even if it means rolling out products that aren't fully baked yet. I don't want a Swiss Army knife. I want a sharp knife and maybe a pair of scissors that stay sharp and work.

haha. i know whom you're pertaining to with that swiss knife ^^ haha but i do have one in my house ^^. its a big help for my children when they're having a camping ^^.

Well i get your point julie ^^. And i admire what you said that you only report issues that are serious. That's what im doing too ^^ i tend to work it out myself first, but if i really cant solve it then thats the time i ask for help. We just have to be patient. ^^ what i love when im doing self experimentation, figuring how things work out is that im able to learn something new. ^^ i love it when i figure out something myself ^^.

As with typepad, i hope they can fix all the issues with the new typepad already. It would be nice if there's a new great feature added yet the great features from the previous is still there and working properly.

The reason why i havent switched yet to the new typepad is that i knew already even before what a beta is. Beta basically means test. And for me, test is not a good thing specially if you're blog is being publicized already. because your viewers visitors already expected the best from your blog, an established blog and not a test blog. When i was still building my blog, i didn't publicized it until im done with everything.

I think others must consider this. Listen and observe first before putting yourself into such thing. Anyways, not all feedbacks are negative, there are others who are able to bare with the missing piece and enjoyed the new features. ^^ But just a friendly advice to those who haven't switch yet. Just be more patient and wait until the new typepad is no longer beta and then thats the time we all switch to the new typepad. ^^
Goodluck to all of us. Typepad rocks!

more power to all the typepad crew.
