Walk Score does not take walking trails into account when computing walkability. After all, this site is about walking.

I live on a court. I walk to the grocery store (three), the bank (three) the pharmacy (four), the wine and beer store, the jewelry store, the coffee shop, the pizza shop (two), the restaurant (two) and a lot more --- yet despite adding some of these important destinations, Walk Score ignores the fact that I can easily walk to these spots. Walk Score also ignores the fact that I can take trails and do not need to take the long way by walking along the streets and roads. Walk Score should be about walking and not emulating a car but on foot.
