One of the biggest problems/challenges when starting a website is getting traffic and even more so getting members. In my opinion, a multilingual option can help. Giving your visitors the option to choose a language, has some great consequences for your site's look as well. A site which exists in multiple languages automatically seems more professional to visitors and -the biggest advantage obviously- they can understand what is on your website. Most websites will probably use this multilinguality as bilinguality, providing theirsite in both English and their own language.
At the moment, I don't think this option is available for webs-users. For free users I'm quite sure it doesn't, not a 100% sure for premiums though. In any case, I would strongly suggest introducing this feature into the website builder. Perhaps a button so that with one click you can switch to a version of your site in another language and easily maintain the structure of it (same pages etc) and just translate it (probably manually) to the desired language. For example, I'm building a website about football in Belgium, so obviously most people I'm aiming to visit my website will speak Dutch. But I also want to be able to bring news about Belgian football to people who don't speak Dutch. Therefore, an option to choose English can prove to be vital to my site's success, especially given that not that many people speak Dutch and about the entire world does know English.
I hope this idea can be put into practice, because I think it is a great idea which webs users' sites will surely benefit from.

Dear everybody,
I agree, Webs should really develop a built-in multilingual solution.
The Google translator is obviously a temporary solution but it doesn't solve the problem because some translations are wrong or not accurate. It helps people understand the content but the writing is low quality.

I need help specifying the language in my website. I ran a Woorank report and it says that the language English ( en ) is missing. Does anybody know something about this? I'm pretty sure that in my website the English language is being specified/selected.

It sounds like you're having an issue, which would be a separate topic from this enhancement request. Please click the "Create a new topic" button at the top of this page and post a separate problem topic so we may investigate.
Thanks! -

That's exactly what I want! Bilingual or even multilingual site! I hope webs can do something quick living in a 3 official language country....

I too would really need the option of having my website in at least one other language. If webs can allow duplicating my website for me to translate it this would be DECISIVE for me!

Multi-language support package?.
Here's an idea for you - How about a multi-lingual support plan/package?
i.e. X # of dollars for the primary site, and a degressive additional cost for additional sites based on the same template, with the same content in an alternate language?
e.g.
xxxxxxxx.webs.com = $5 /mo
xxxxxxxx.webs.com/jap = additional $2/mo
xxxxxxxx.webs.com/fr = additional $2/mo
xxxxxxxx.webs.com/it = additional $2/mo
etc..
I can't imagine that it would be technically very difficult, since really, they're each just an individual site, with a template in common, and this is something you already do...
It's more a matter of opening up a new pricing scheme on the business/financial end to attract a certain type of customer... and if you look in your forum here... I think you'll agree that we are not so few...
Hope this helps!
Because, now that the old templates have disappeared, and I can't create an identical French version of my existing site(s)... I'm beginning to have to consider other options :-/ -
