Be able to search inside webs.com
I want to be able to search inside webs.com to search for help, inside my content, through the websites from webs.com and through the web. This way I can get ideas and help quicker than going through help and other menus.

Why not search other's sites? At the bottom of our edit profile pages, It gives an option to EXCLUDE your website from the search engine and makes it private.
I, along with many others, used to use that to find affiliates and lean on one another to make our websites stand out. I have created several fan sites but I love to look for others that have done exceedingly well on their sites.
Heck, some times I offer to make them a banner and Background just for the heck of it.
I want to see what others are up to, not just focus on my own little world.... -
It is a great idea, both searching with our sites and with Webs site, but I don't think we should allow search others' sites...
Unless it's like a category search (Arts, Business, Personal, etc.), but specific sites - no. We make our sites to INDIVIDUALLY create our own communities or businesses with a team of your own or not.
But allowing all Webs site search, just makes it more apparent that we're only a part of a bigger site...and being able to find others' sites so easily might even bring spam to a site (like when they want to "advertise" their site)
So, great ideas, but I'm not really feeling the app that searches Webs site. -
I hear Webs is working on a site-wide search App. No idea when it's coming out though.

As mentioned in my idea description:
Search window at the top to search:
1. Inside my website
2. Inside other peoples websites
3. Inside webs.com help and other company pages, etc.
Have these 3 options in a refined search.
So many times I get lost trying to go through help menus and other pages.
It would be great for webs to have a search facility at the top.
Webs.com is a website design company so they should have a search window.

Each website should come with an application for a website wide search cell that they can put on their home page, that way, anyone who comes to their webpage to search for something can simply type in what they are looking for and it will go right to it.

make a feature where you can add a search box on your site so people can search on your site e.g in the videos section or pictures or webstore or even homepage in some cases.
It would be nice and easier for the viewers. Thanks for reading :)

I am using the "Link" page for my directory. However, there isn't a "Search" to navigate from category to category. It is such a hassle to scroll down a long list of links just to find a link in a category.

I have a premium account with HTML mode. I've tried uploading a ".htaccess" file to my root directory and it rejected it. I tried tricking the uploader by switching the extension to upload, then rename afterwards. It uploaded properly, then deleted the file after renaming. The account is 2.5 years old, so I tried making a new test account in HTML mode. Same exact problems. Apparently, there is no support for .htaccess on Webs which needs to change for premium users. I understand restricting PHP and Rails for separate paid premium packages, but .htaccess is a must for users.

my username : djonesavinashtech
my site : http://djonesavinashtech.webs.com/
I want to add thousands of articles on my website, say 10,000. For that I can purchase the Unlimited Pages in credit shop. Then I can add as many pages I want to be on my site. I will hide those pages so that they could not appear in navigation bar of my website. But displaying such a huge number of pages in Site Manager section would be crowdy. For that you should add something like this
on the Site Manager page for convenience.
You should also add a search bar on Site Manager page for searching both visible & hidden pages.
This would be good for me & other users who want thousands of pages on their website.

I have done my profile and marked the webs directorybox but my site does not show up on there. Instead a lot of sites are repeated over and over and mine does not show up once plus is a mess The Webs Directory is not concice or organized by category. It's just next and previous buttons to check the sites out. It used to be better organized to see all the site by category and well much better suited so everyone's site could be seen.
Sorry to say it but is true and my previous site SophiBushFansite used to get 230 or so hits per day and this site that has more stuff in it only gets 29 or less per day. So I think that would help organize the Webs Directory and would make all sites more visible and esier to find.

Hey guys. When you say site search, do you mean search for website pages? Like for example if you went to my site, and searched "videos", the video page on my site would pop up? Custom website search? Is there an option like that, and will they be working on it?

Have this bar and you type in a category like Star Wars or Piano or Baseball etc. And it will give you a list of websites similar to that.
That would be good, right?

www.freefind.com is a great place to get a search button for your site. You have to build a site index first but it works really well. You can see it on my site at www.messianicsingles.webs.com
Add the search bar to your sidebar on your website.-
This is exactly what I've been looking for, its just what my members needed to find posts easier. It has an easy to use interface, its fully customizable, and simple to setup. Thanks!

If webs.com webmasters really want a search engine for websites host by webs.com I will build it and much more. I just need to know that, thats what webs.com webmasters want.

A search bar should definitely be and included widget to add to sites. It would be helpful for my customers who would be able to easily find exactly which page they're looking for, instead of hunting through tons of pages on the site.
