FAQ. Web Storage Not Updating? Read First! Support-45

Hey Guys,

Recently we've had some users addressing File Storage Space concerns. Some users have reported errors within the File Storage Meter. Specifically, Users are saying when they delete files (they may be getting an notice saying they’re almost out of space) the allotment under Site Usage is not properly updating to reflect the new changes.

We've provided some troubleshooting tips here:

To view your File Storage Meter:

Log into www.webs.com
Click "Edit this Site"
Click on the "Site Settings" link
View your Site Usage within the module on your sidebar

OR

Log into www.webs.com
Click "Edit this Site"
Click on the "Control Panel"
View you Site USage within the module on your sidebar

You should be able to see what your storage allotment is and how much of that allotment you've used. After deleting files, changes to the available allotment should show after logging out and logging back in. These changes may not show immediately.

Common Misconceptions

  • Deleting image files from your photo gallery albums will not change your storage meter.

  • Content deleted from pages of your site will not affect your storage space.

  • Only files deleted directly from your File Manager will contribute to any changes in your storage Meter

  • Please be sure to Clear your Cache and Cookies as well. Sometimes you may simply be viewing a cached version of your already-updated storage meter.

Storage space is calculated in megabytes (MB). You may not see a significant impact if you delete files that are less than a total of one (I) MB. Generally, files like images are measured in kilobytes (KB) since they are so small. If the files you've deleted do not total at least 1024 KB (one MB), the amount of MB shown in Site Usage may not change to reflect this.
