FAQ. Transferring a domain to another registrar or host.

If you register your domain through Webs it will be registered to YOU. This means you are responsible for renewing it, so you don't lose it through expiration. It also means that if you decide to create a site with another webhost, you can move your domain to the new host or a new registrar.

There are several ways to do that.

1. You can change the nameservers so the domain points to the new site.

2. You can transfer the domain to another registrar.

Changing nameservers

To change your nameservers, you will need to find out from your new webhost what the proper nameservers are, and what you need to do on their end to complete the process.

To change your nameservers, read this topic and follow the instructions to edit your domain settings.

Transferring to another registrar

To transfer to another registrar, you need to contact your new registrar to find out what their process is. You will probably need the EPP code.

If you are looking for your EPP/Auth Code, please use the request feature we offer. This will allow us to process your request in an efficient manner.
Please use the following steps:

1. Log into your account
2. Go to - http://members.webs.com/Members/Domai...
3. Use the link Settings, next to your domain name
4. Use the "Other" tab

From here you will see the link to request your Transfer Code. Submit your request and we will be in contact with you once it has been submitted. If there are any issues, we will work with you to resolve.

Please note that if you move your domain away from Webs, you can still keep your Webs site if you wish. If you have no other premium service, your site will revert to being a free site with ads on it, and reduced webspace and bandwidth allotments, for example. But by moving your domain name, you will not lose your Webs site.
