Site adminstrators should have the power to change the time people are given to edit their posts on the forum ap. Currently it is 10 minutes on mine and that is far too short. Please add this ability for us as soon as possible.
Thank You.

I have also had the same questioned asked by me by a few of my members.
My site is for writers and due to the problems with copying and pasting (have noted the way to correct it and will pass it on to my members) when they go in to edit and yes they are sticklers and will edit for about a half hour at time, they are becoming frustrated at the 10 minute time as well.
Please, please, for the sake of my sanity and hair, can this please be looked into and rectified so we as manager's can reset the time needed.
Thank you so very much. -

I was trying to build my site before I bought premium and I noticed.... MEMBERS CANT EDIT THEIR POST AFTER TEN MINUTES! WHATS UP WITH THAT!? this really needs to be changed and allowed for free users as well. It can make free users not want to join if they have to purchase such a standard feature!
please webs. allow us to be able to much more than ten minutes after!
this problem should be a high priority... this is insane. -

Anyone know if this issue is being addressed by the dev team?

I like the fact that members have only ten minutes to ALTER whatever they said in our forum, and would be very dissapointed if that was changed.
The reason is if some TROLL decides to make a fool out of themselves and try and start arguements or merely just trash talking or being offensive, they cant turn around and edit there post (if they are chewed out for it) a day AFTER THE FACT and then try and make out that they are nicer than they are. (to make themselves look hard done by)
If ten minutes is not enough time to proof read your post, maybe 30 mins might suffice, but any longer would not be a good thing.-
I disagree with your topic i feel that there shouldnt be a limit and if you get people you dont like well simple deleat there topics and remove em from site simple

its not that, its that some fool can try to stir trouble and then after the fact, go back and edit his post to make it look like he was a victim and the site admin and members are the bad guys
Ppl should stand by what they say, not have the ability to ALTER things wily-nilly
Thats reserved for the admin, mods and owners.
I can kick TROLLS anytime, but i will not go deleting entire threads just because a troll altered the context of the conversation -

Hellrider, I agree with your sentiment to a certain degree. And for some sites that's okay. The issue is that the site onwers should control that amount of time, not the forum software. One size fits all won't work for the diversity of websites that Webs is hosting. Site owners should have the freedom to set the parameters for their sites.

thats fair enough, I guess im just easily pleased :)
I would imagine trying to incorporate such variables would put a lot of strain on the software.
As the old saying goes "K.I.S.S.", Keep it simple stupid -

outta curiosity, what are your site members posting that would require an extended editing time?
I mean, i have a short story im writting on my website and updates for new game releases etc, but the typical post by members is just not worth the effort of doing all this for.
Those members who actualy contribute something significant to the site have their status changed to mods, just to allow them the access to edit their posts.
Maybe if you have someone on your site that has a authentic need to be able to edit their posts at anytime (and is not just a chronic bad speller like me), you should consider making them mods. It seems a lot easier. -

That's not the issue. The issue is that there is a feature very common to forums all over the Internet that is absent from the forum app here at Webs for no apparent reason. the fact that they've disabled all MySQL stuff means you have to use their app. That's fine, but if that's what they're going to do, site owners should be given more latitude in setting up the parameters for how the forum should run.

I agree with this. I use webs to hot the forum and site for online text-based games. My members need their sheets edited constantly and it's a lot of work for approvals and play. I think either admins should be able to set a time limit, or give certain members or a member-group the option of no time limit, so trolls and people can't sign up and spam, but members (or a select group we can put members into) that are part of the forum can easily post and edit without any issue and exhausting the mods.

I completely agree. 10 minutes is barely enough to read through a post, make corrections, and fix visual appearance. Most other forums have no time limit, or a much longer one. Please give us the option to change how long we have to edit a post!

I think allowing the admins the ability to decide how long the members have to edit their posts would be a good idea. At the very least, giving admins a drop down menu to select from times would be nice. (10 min, 30 min, 1 hour, etc) Then if there's an issue with the site handling things, the maximum can be extended past that irritating 10 minutes, without webs suffering too greatly.

Please extend it to forever! I am making a game, and whenever I add something new I want to add those details WHENEVER I want. Dont tell me you can make a perfect game in under 10 minutes after the idea has been concieved

I'd like my forum users to always be able to edit what they post on my forums but at the moment they are only allowed to edit their post up until 10 mins after their posting.
Can I turn this feature off?
Thanks

How do i extend the time that a forum user has to edit their post.. -

Currently, if you are a member, you only have 10 minutes to edit your post in the forum after they are published. This in turn leads to a lot of double posting when other information needs to be added or changed, the member can't edit the first post. Can we please lift the limit for editing only 10 minutes after published. It would help a lot with double posting on my forums.

Extend edit time on forum posts?. -

Sorry this is an old topic but I agree. I would very much like to edit my roleplaying forums and ranks and such. Maybe when a post is reported for innappropriate content, THEN it should not be able to be edited, but for the rest we should have an unlimited editing time.
