Hey Guys,
In case you're still having issues doing so, here are the instructions again:
Instruct the new owner to first create an account on your site in order to create a Webs ID.
Log into www.webs.com using your username and password. (Please note that using your Webs ID to log in will not show the same options.)
Once you've successfully logged in, click on the "Control Panel" option, then select "Website Settings".
Click on the option to "Use Another Webs ID" then enter in the email address and password of the new owner.
The change should then be successful.
If you have any further questions, please let us know. Thanks!

What about if I forgot the password? Please help!
-

What would happen to your other sites, if you have? Will all of them be transferred to the new owner? Thank you.
-
Hello!,
When you're transferring a site, the remainder of your sites will remain associated with your current Webs ID. They will not be transferred to the new site owner. -

if you have an email address I can send you some screen shots of what I see when I log in with my username and password.

This option only appears when signing in using the site's username. Signing in with the WebsID/email address will not work.

I keep trying, and don't log in with anything other than my email address and password, but I just can't find a "Use Another Webs ID" choice. I HAVE to name someone else as owner and it's just not happening!! Please help!

What if you do not have the alternate ownership persons password? I made a website for a friend and now it is too much of a hassle I want to transfer it to her and not have anymore access to it?
-

Valerie, if the passwords are not the same, the change will not be successful. You will need to provide the new owner with your password so that she can successfully acquire the site.

Where exactly are you having issues? Which step causes confusion?

Eric (employee) send me the answer:
All sites can be logged into using a username and password. For the site address www.example.webs.com, "example" would be the username.
You can enter your username in the Lost Password page to recover the password should your WebsID/password not work.-
Glad to hear that you've gotten things sorted out. :-)

This means that you've most likely logged in using your email address rather than your username. Please try logging in using your email address to see if you're able to then follow the instructions provided.
Thank you!

Your username is the name of your site in the URL before the .webs.com.

Hanna, I answered Double-ese's post above. In order to see the "Use another WebsID" option in the Site Settings, you must log in using the site's username and not the WebsID/email address.
If you need further assistance, please explain in further detail what trouble you are having, your site address, and your login name. -
-
Where do you log in with the site's username?
-

I don't see the option to "Use another Webs ID". I'm in Website Setting, and there is "Site Information", "Site Owner Information" (but no way to change the site owner), "Site Credentials", "Site Usage", "More Settings", "Email Notification Preferences". Where is the option to "Use another Webs ID"??
I see that it says we have to log in using the site's username but how do we do that? When we try to log in, it asks for the e-mail address...
UPDATE: Okay I got it. We just have to type the site name where it asks for the e-mail address. -
-
-
All I've been able to figure out is to go to the control panel of the website, and change the email address and account name (done) where it says 'site credentials but I cannot change the password. Each time I do it, I'm asked for the original password, and get an 'incorrect password please try again' warning.
-
-
Alrighty... I had the same issue as others, where I couldn't see the "Use another Webs ID"... and you've said to login with the site username (not my email address) (eg goalball-australia in this case) and my own password. Except that didn't work. It would not log me in.
Is it because I manage a number of sites, and therefore have the same login address/password for all?
I want to pass over the site ownership of at least two of them, to two different people, but I can't follow the instructions provided until I can get that other bit working, so this is very important. The other sites need to stay as is, so I'm wary of changing something and locking myself out of the other sites.
Really, it shouldn't be this hard!!
How about a few step-by-step snapshots?- view 1 more comment

HI Eric, I appreciate the quick response.
Even though I used the site username for the link you've provided, the email I received said: "You have received this message because you requested to reset your password on Webs for the account . To reset your password just simply click the following link..."
But I don't want this password reset to affect all my other sites, and this looks like it will do a global change. Is this because these sites were created under an older setup?
I realise you're on the other side of the world, so there will be a time delay in answering, so I'll most likely have tried it anyway... -
-
Resetting the username's password will only change it for that username.

It's not possible to set two site owners.

Hi Eric,
You merged my original question into this thread but it still leaves me at a stand still. Hopefully there is a way to remedy this as I'd really like access to these sites.
Basically a contractor built some webs.com sites for me back in 2011. I can't get a hold of him any more, so there is no way he will transfer ownership. Not that he wants or cares about the sites he built for me (if I can get a private email from you I'll show you the sites and they are very low quality), he is just unreachable.
In any case, all sites have links pointing to my actual business site and I can easily prove ownership of that site.
All I'd like to do is take over the existing webs.com sites and post some real, valuable content on them, instead of the spun junk that's there right now. It is not a good representation of my business and when my customers have found the sites online when searching for me, it's a little embarassing to try and explain why they are there.
Anyways, that's about it, please let me know if I can provide more information and where I can do so.
Thanks,
Aaron
P.S. Last night I actually sent an email to billing that has all the details of my situation including the site names etc. If I need to upgrade to a premium account in order to retain ownership of the other sites, that wouldn't be a problem. I do have another webs.com account that I do have all credentials for and would simply like to merge the other "spammy" sites with it so that I can re-vamp them. Thanks.
P.S.S. The name of the contractor is Traian Turcu, he also goes by adelpopp. Maybe you could forward that information to the billing department for verification, I don't think I included it in my email to them last night (I'm in California so it was night for me 12 hours ago). Hope that helps.- view 1 more comment

Eric, for all I know, this guy fell off the planet. Seriously, I can't get a hold of him. I don't mind to convert to a premium account, but the sites I'm trying to recover definitely aren't premium now or ever before. I will happily convert my other site on webs to premium if I can get access to the other sites.
So being that I have email communications, paypal receipts, and can easily prove ownership of the site that all the webs.com properties link to (who.is will prove this), I'm still left with no options here? -
-
We use the email address set as the site owner to verify the account. Alternately, if the site has premium services, we may also use billing information. If the sites are not currently premium and you do not have access to the email account set for the site, it is not possible to recover access.

Hi, well, I'm having a bit of trouble, since Webs has completely changed the Webs dashboard and the whole 'My Site' screen and such, I'm having trouble as to change back my ownership back to a friends. How do I change back the ownership? I already know the WebsID and such and the whole policy for it, but ever since Webs changed, I've been having trouble with it.
-
same for me the new 3.0 is missing a lot of features that the previous had. Also the ad to upgrade is always in your face. It used to be easy to quickly manage members, change ownership, and even earn credits. I think the credits feature is gone now. The whole 3.0 interface looks like the builder interface. I don't really like it. if there's no way to have the feature. Can we at least downgrade to be able to use them?

Um....guys....perhaps asking for the site "username" instead of "your email address" would have clarified a few things. I've messed around with this for weeks trying to find "use another webs ID" and no one suggested this.
Finally. THANK YOU. -
-
Although in order to post here, I had to sign in still using the email address I *thought* I got rid of.
Aaaaaand I'm back to square one.-
The support community does not use your Webs login, and your login that you create here would be unrelated.

Ok. then if I changed the WebsID and my email address *everywhere* - why are the notifications still coming to the wrong address? Plus here. Shouldn't that email address be archived or something?

Can anyone shed any further light on this?? I'm still receiving notifications of posts here and on my site to the old (I thought, deleted) email address. What needs to be done?? Thank you.

I'm having trouble finding the "Control Panel".
I've tried logging in with both my email address and my username. Both bring up the same display.
I have several websites I've created for different organizations/charities and need to be able to transfer a few over to other people.-
It looks like your sites are on Sitebuilder 3, so the instructions here for legacy users will not apply to your account. You can contact Sitebuilder 3 support at http://help.webs.com or by clicking the "?" button next to "Publish" in your account.

I have to accounts associated with my log on. Their both free.
the first is a Legacy account that I want to keep.
The 2d account is a sitebuilder 3 (I think can not find name of builder).
I want to transfer the 2d Account to a different account that I have set up but I can not find a control Panel only the "Settings" on the left side of the screen.
How can I transfer the 2d account?-
Sorry, it is not possible to transfer SB3 sites to different accounts.

I am using Webs 2.0, from around 2011. It doesn't have that option of 'Use Another Webs ID'. It just says 'SITE OWNER INFORMATION' and the only clickable thing in that box is 'WHAT IS THIS?'

Can anyone help with Switching WebsID & Site Owner Information? I am looking for the “use another Webs ID” button but can't find it anywhere. Thanks for the help.-
You'll need to login with your username to view the "User Another WebsID" button in Site Settings.
