I need it now!! -
WOW not looked on here for ages, and still the same. Shocking is all i can say........

Dear Webs.com,
We have all been waiting very patiently for this to be implemented and its now coming on for about a year for me wishing this feature would be made. We know it says 'The company has this under consideration'.
Could you please just drop us a reply here on what the lastest on this idea is.
Regards
Ben & Everyone Above. -
This is one of the most suggested ideas of custom groups for the site and yet Webs.com makes no move to implement this and if they do they don't tell us. The closest we have gotten to a response from Webs.com is from Toby and them saying this is under consideration but that still is not a response from /webs.com Webs.com we want you to start participating in this discussion and tell us why this hasn't been implemented.

This doesn't need to be considered it needs to be planned. There needs too be the option to create your own custom members. As for example a ranking system where is someone gets a certain amount of posts then they get ranked up to a new member title. Also you should be able to promote people like we can now and have it stay. Also you should be able to make the restrictions of the member titles to be the same as a regular member just with a member title changed.
-
Lovin' the idea! Custom groups with custom accessibility permissions would be lovely!
-
This would also make sending e-mail blasts to specific members infinitely easier, which I'm just learning now is a bit tedious!
-
I think like a ranking system or group like you said would be great
-
Custom usergroups so i can have "Moderators" "Publishers" or any custom title that i can asign to any member.
also have colours for each member groups would be great.
like depending on post quality/quantity your will gain a colour to stand out in the community, making it an incentive to have a custom title and colour.
this would help ALL websites with forums and for the mainsites.
its such a simple yet important feature for a website wanting a community structure.
i hope a member of staff can advise at to what is going on with this request as you can see alot of people are requesting it.
Cheers

i need this could they do this any faster
-
Yes, I've been trying to figure this out forever!
I want to create members who are
1) Customers
2) Employees
3) Supervisors
PLEASE ADD THIS WEBS.COM!!!!! -
I was an administrator on another forum where different member groups could be assigned, with settings for each member group. For example, a member would join and initially be a "limited member" until a certain post count within the forums, or until after a certain length of time, or both.
Having custom member groups meant we could give the members "ranks" and with each "rank" or member group came more privileges and abilities. One thing I would prefer is to be able to change members' message settings, as we're finding with our forums here that some people join for the sole purpose of spamming the boards by posting and messaging members with outside URLs.
With custom member groups and settings which allow administrators to change each group's settings and have the groups automatically upgrade to the next rank, this would all but eliminate one-time posters who join only to plug their sites or send spam messages to legitimate members... -
I have actually been looking for other free sites that allow this, but not many other even allow 'Members' let alone different groups..
This is a great idea that I fully support. -
You can assign members as either moderators, limited members, or Admin. But you cannot create your own groups. This would be a good idea though.

I simply need to get into an existing website to be able to edit the existing material.
How do I do this?? We have not worked on the site for at least two years and now need to change some things. -

I like this idea very much. I want to have groups like VIP for my Members.
P.S. I have voted this too. -

My website represents an online version of a club that we run. Within the club, there are a number of positions and I would like my website to reflect that so I can allow different members to have different permissions (particularly to give some people an administrator "B" role if they are worthy of it but without letting them manage the website). I need custom positions to distinguish between those who have never actually come but joined the website out of interest, one-time members, occasional comers, regular members, those who have contributed a lot and run events and those who hold the more senior positions. Member promotions is something which is done each term at the club and it would be very helpful that the website could reflect that.

Wow, three years and still nothing? This has the most votes and still they haven't done it? This isn't realy important to my site but it really makes me think that webs isn't going to make any improvements no matter how many suggest it.

Exactly...Webs, this is one of the most useful edits you could make and you still haven't done it...please snap to!

I like this idea as well, and wonder if it would help with my email blasts. Currently it can take hours for people to receive emails (some not at all) because they are being blocked... probably because there are too many emails being sent to at once. If I had groups then I could send out the emails in smaller blocks without it taking me hours.

-
I love this idea! I thought of this too. Please make it available on the old site builders too.
-
-
I want my members to be able to start a group that should be easy enough.

Why is this still under consideration!? Make it already D=
(I have a weird way of showing my support, I know) -

4 years?
I was setting up a forum page, and want to distinguish between the public and 'team' members while having 'moderators' purely for website moderation.
I simply google'd on how to make a new user group, and this was the first result. -

Cannot access my site'Capted's Oracle......this happened as soon as i started recieving mail from"YEXT and 'WEBS',stating innocently they could not access my site...which i had fror 5 years. It looks like a scam on WEBS part to steal,or extort money, avoiding proper channels or in the least notifications.I will initiate a canvassed approach to get answers or let the internet this scam.

I really want this feature. I'm trying to make a tutorial website with 'courses' that members can enrol in so they can view the course page. I've found a few website builders with member login but webs is as close as I can get to what I need. Hope you get this done real soon as it's been over 4 years now. Because this feature is unavailable I have to create a forum from an external provider.

-
When are we going to get this feature? My pro package is becoming less and less "pro"
