This is a frequent suggestion I see all the time, so I figured I would make an official post for it.
The "who's online" feature.
Users will have an icon next to there names, similar to myspace, that will animate in some way to show when a user is online, and another static image to show that they are offline.
This will appear beside there name on all of the apps, and on any comments they post.

Hello folks!
Thanks for sharing your interest in this feature! While this is not currently in the works, we always look to popular Idea topics when looking for what might be implemented in the future.
Please continue to share your ideas and suggestions in this topic, and we'll keep you updated on this idea's status.
In the meantime, as others have suggested, the Wibiya and Meebo bars are great ways to chat with and interact with site visitors. You can install them from the Webs appstore and try them out on your site.

the members should have a green icon when they are on line and a red icon when they are off line. in this way all the members know when to contact the member.

I like it. And perhapps different color names for Site Owner / Admin / Mod / Member / Limited
-
I agree completely. This would enhance the website - free or not - a great deal.
-
At the very least Administrators and Owners should be able to see who's logged on.
-
I think this is a great Idea to have, since I can never know who's ever online at the moment, and would very much love to.
-
This is a feature that would enhance many sites on webs, free or premium.
With the growing switch over from Ning and such, it will prove a benefit for all who have the social site side of things going on. After leaving allpoetry (4 yrs member) where I was a moderator manager, I can see this being a feature quickly taken on board by those who run and operate webs.com
great idea and heres hoping they can implement it quite quickly, it will be a worthwhile venture. -
This would be great for larger, forum based sites.

Webs.com is great, but its lacking in many areas.
We need to know if a user is online or not, a small widget under the photo of each member on the forums and on profiles showing if members are online or not would be awesome
Also a bar at the bottom of the web page showing who is online [Members and guests], and who is viewing a thread
Simple, small features yet we haven't got them?
Come on webs, implement these features asap! :)

members should be able to see in real time which members are online
This is a very important feature that would be a great help to admins and site owners.

i can never tell who's on my website, would be nice if webs came up with something about this. Administrators and Owners should be able to see who's logged on

Forum idea! It should say who is on the forum and who the most recent member is and how many posts in total there are! Please read!

well im thinking of upgrading but these are one of my issues why should i pay for a site for my members to use for free and they cant even see which of their friends are online in their friends list it would be great if they could chat together with their friends directly form their friendslist as im hoping soon to totally delete the wibiya bar as i dont like the look but at the moment it will have to do im currently scanning as money other free service providers for free website design. Although with a few tweeks i would gladly pay to upgrade with webs as they have done me good

Dear Webs,
Many members are asking for a "Who's Online?" Feature so members/visitors can see who is online on there website. This will also help members communicate knowing if someone is online or not. A similar idea is "Number of people online" So members know how many people are online!
Thanks,

Thank you -

This feature should'nt be added. I dis-agree.

I like this idea a lot. Not everyone will want the Meebo or Wibiya bar, so this will let users know that people ARE online.

Under consideration from two years ago. Great, I guess my suggestions will never see the light of day.

now that we are losing Wibiya... is there anything we can do to get this pushed?
-
We may consider this as part of a larger update to the Members app, but it is not something we are planning to implement at this time.

To bad these ideas that are under consideration are years old.... That shows you how long it takes for Webs.com to get in action. This is why Webs.com lags behind and lacks in creativity and professionalism.
-
An incredibly accurate point Danny. Of course they have so many things they have to get to. Like rearranging the back end design so its more complicated to use. Something like this should be easy enough to script. I wish there was more leeway in the html settings, so that I could just put it on myself. Especially if I pay for a premium membership. I don't really understand why they take features away when you pay for their service. I remember when webs used to even let you add CSS.

meebo is more reliable but its riddled with adverts .. surely there must be something else you can offer for us premium owners ..
