Facebook Like redirects Facebook Wall instead of custom Fan Tab

Hi Guys, I hope I can get an answer to my issue.

I use the "Static IFRAME Tab : ThumbsUp Icon" tab, and set it up as my default landing page. I created a "fan" and "non-fan" page. Once I click like on my "no fan" page and then login on facebook, I land on my Facebook wall and not on my FAN page.

I know you guys at woobox talked about it in Feb https://www.facebook.com/Woobox/posts...

So Is it still an issue with a facebook, or is it a woobox issue? Any idea how to fix this?

Thx.

Sam.

The issue here is that the default landing tab only sends non-fans and non-admins to the tab. Fans always go to the wall.

Thanks for answering. Although, what you are saying is true, brands redirect to a "fan page" and not the wall. I realized they developed their own facebook app to do that.

Woobox is the most amazing iframe app on facebook, so I was wondering if you would make your iframe tabs app a little more sophisticated to be able to redirect to a "fan page"?

Do you have an example. It's a Facebook limitation for all apps and pages that the default landing tab setting only applies to non-fans. There really isn't any other way to control where the user goes when a Fan visits your Facebook page url, they will always end up at the wall.

If you like the page and then click those links you still go to the wall (check the tab name you're on).

George, again you are right that FB policy after a like is to land on the wall. Although, I found another facebook page that redirects to a -fan-page" instead of the wall while remaining on the same tab. See below:

1 - I'm not logged on facebook
2 - I go to http://www.facebook.com/flipthishouse
3 - I click "Like", I login to facebook and I end up on their non-fan page
4 - I click "Like" and I now end up on their "Fan-Page"

I remain on their "Exclusive - Flipping house Manifesto" all the time.

I read that pages with over 10k fans are allowed that functionality. Are you aware of this or is it just a programming trick?

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks.

Sam, I think what you're seeing is just the Fan/Nonfan tab settings at work. There isn't anything special pages at a certain fan level get access too. I just checked and that page will also not redirect you to a certain tab after you like it when you go back to the page url. Keep an eye on the url of the page you're on, if it has the app id at the end, you're on the tab specific page.

The method you describe above is exactly how the default landing tab works, for a non-fan visit it lands you on the default landing tab, then when you click like, you stay on that tab. If you come back later and type the Facebook page url, you will be at the wall the second time.

You do realize that as an admin, you will always wind up on the getting started page.

I having the same problem, please follow these steps:
1. First, login to Facebook.
2. Goto URL http://www.facebook.com/SolomanGroup
3. Click "Like" button

You will find that it will redirect to Wall post instead of stay on the current custom tab just right after you click the "Like" button.

I have set the different content for both fan and non-fan page.

I think the Woobox custom tab is not working this way. I have setup this Facebook page for months and didn't face this problem previously.

Please help to fix this. Thank you.

This is a bug Facebook introduced three days ago. Try any page, coca cola for example and you'll see it happens there too. I'm working on a work around in case Facebook doesn't fix this quickly but they are aware of it and a bug has been sumitted.

Thanks for the information.
Really hope that this problem will be fixed soon because the fan-gate custom tab is a great feature to the Facebook page.

Is that possible the visitor straight redirect to my website just right after they land on my Facebook page custom landing tab (without clicking any button)?

Yes it is. Set Non-fan source to off and set page source to redirect and use your website as the redirect url.

Facebook seems to be directing all fans and non-fans to the Wall again! Could you look into this for us? I've tried Coca-cola and that seems to be working.

Thanks
