Lets bring WWF to Israel to conserve and protect wildlife

I wonder why the WWF has no offices and is not involved in any way I can find in conservation of my beautiful and unique country of Israel. Israel has is home to a large variety of wildlife species and a very divers and wide range of natural habitats. From the snowy Hermon mountains to the Negev desert, including a long shore border of the Mediterranean Sea. Israel is making efforts to conserve and protect all wildlife and plant species, some endemic to our area, and unfortunately, most are endangered. And as a young country without rest from other threats, we can use more global support in help to conserve the species and their habitats.
I am proposing that with the help of a WWF office, right here in Israel, and the help of a lot of brilliant Israeli and international scientists and conservation experts, we could make a greater difference and help save these species and others around the world. But we need the WWF's help, as the largest conservation funds that acts around the world, that would like to take part of.

    Hello
Thank you for your message and interest in starting a WWF Office in Israel.
Presently, WWF has primary offices in 50 plus countries around the world. For the time being, it has been decided that our organization should concentrate on strengthening the existing WWF network and conservation programmes, and not to set up new offices.

Moreover, there is a set criteria upon which WWF decides whether or not to open an office in a particular country. Indeed, a lot of resources, both time and money is involved in considering the establishment of a WWF office. At the outset, an assessment as to whether a WWF presence is required in a country needs to be carried out, in particular if there are already local organizations undertaking the conservation work.

You may wish to contact your nearest WWF office to see what advice they may be able to provide.  The website URLs of our larger offices and links to our smaller offices are available at:

  • Hi Shirley,

I am a wildlife filmmaker from Germany currently doing research about the possibility to make a film about the Israel wildlife. It is quite difficult to get proper information about the Israel flora and fauna so I thought I ask you if you might have some tips. Would you know any wildlife or conservation organization I could get in touch with?

    all the best!
    Samuel

  • I'm a wildlife illustrator. I had help in my art to WWF Thailand and currently WWF phillipines.

I always love Israel. I wish one day if WWF Israel did formed. I wish I have the chance to contribute my art for God's chosen land.
