Re: Singapore Seafood Guide.

Love the idea of the guide!
Would it be useful to add photos of the seafood?
I can't tell the difference between the mud crabs, for example, and your Mandarin text says "泥蟹“ for both.
Also, it's easier to read both sides together, unfolded.

  • Hi Serwei
Thanks for the feedback however, as the guide is hosted on our singapore site you will need to provide them with the feedback : )

  • Hi Jackie,

First off i agree with serwei, photos would be read. What in the world is a jobfish?

It would appear you did not use the like you provided. If you have, you would have found out that it redirects to this website eventually.

    Hi Serwei (and CKT :-)

I've let my colleague in WWF Singapore know about your comments and she is looking into it.

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch and giving us your input. Very valuable.

    Cheers

    Hi Serwei & CKT

We just got a response from our colleagues in the WWF Singapore office...

It looks like the issue with pictures comes from the fact the guide had to be made to fit in your pocket, so it isn't possible to include pictures in the PDF itself.

This is why the WWF Singapore team are now working hard at making sure detailed photos for each seafood listing are available on the main site - just click on "Recommended" / "Think Twice" / "Avoid":

    http://www.panda.org/who_we_are/wwf_o...

These pictures are being constantly updated and improved to provide a back-up resource to the small pocket guide, in order to help people make better, informed choices.

    For the Mud Crabs:
The Mandarin translation reflects the common name that is used and, in some cases, this can be the same for more than one species. So again, to help with identification, we need to refer people back to the pictures on the website (as per the above link) given the necessary small size of the pocket guide, to help if people need better identification.

    For the Jobfish:

The WWF team in Singagpore are sincerely appreciative of your input and ideas on improving this guide, so please let us know if you have any further advice for us.

    cheers
