  • Hi David,
Thanks for taking the time to contact with your concerns. We don't have any details on this particular group, and unfortunately have no authority over what is spread around the internet. Things like this do get circulated on a regular basis, often with the intent to cause a stir and get attention, so we often find it is better not to feed into the "storm" they are trying to create...although these images are distressing indeed.

If there is something illegal going on with this group, then the local authorities need to get involved. If you feel there may be poaching and illegal selling of items then you may wish to contact our partner organisation TRAFFIC who deal specifically with illegal wildlife trade.

WWF is indeed working hard to fight illegal poaching of threatened and priority species across the globe. However, there does remain areas where local governments have chosen to allow restricted hunting. WWF tries to work closely with these governments to ensure these activities do not have a detrimental effect of overall populations, and that guidelines are set and maintained. This sort of collaboration often has a better outcome than blindly calling for a ban on all hunting as this is unlikely to ever happen. These are complex situations and WWF continues to work with parties across both sides of the discussion to find sustainable paths forward in which we can live in harmony with the precious world around us.

Hope this helps and thanks again for taking the time to think deeply act on these difficult issues.
