Why only once?

The Earth Hour was great. Why can't we do this once a week or once a month? You can do it by city. state or country. How cool would it be if it was not one hour one time? Let's make it part of our contribution to our earth!Ellyn D. W. K

    Hi Ellyn
WWF is glad that you loved Earth hour so much that you want to keep doing it! In fact, this is the third Earth Hour. It is becoming an annual event so make sure that you join in March 2010 as well. Sometimes events have most impact if they are not held too often. Would birthdays be as significant if you had one every week or every month. Also, the organisation that is involved in coordinating the biggest global protest over climate change stops the event from being more than annual. However, there is nothing stopping you and your friends from thinking about what you can do to reduce climate change by having regular get togethers and celebrating by keeping the lights off!

Good luck and thanks for your support and enthusiasm.

  • I’m confident we can make this work
my school had earth hour and i saw the earth hour that went down in my city i believe it should be a weekly thing. if u take your car out everyday to the store it wouldnt hurt if you turned out the lights for an hour every week. so i personally believe it should be done more and it really should be at the forefront of alot of minds. its only common sense though if you have windows open the blinds if your in your car open the windows there are possible ways to make it work.
