Eye-fi Pro x2 Doesn't Upload to iPad on IOS 9

I have an Eye-Fi Pro X2 16GB card that has worked in my Canon 7D MkII in the past very well. I was able to connect to my iPad Air 2 in direct mode and transfer RAW files with no problem, using the Eye-Fi self-created wifi network. (In other words, no home network).

I was on a shoot recently and wanted to repeat this and while the iPad would recognize the network from the Eye-Fi card, and the Eye-Fi app would show it is connected, and even show the individual files downloading, there are no files displayed, and none can be found in Camera Roll or the Eye-Fi folder on the iPad.

I never had this problem before. A friend of mine, also with an iPad Air 2, and also on iOS 9, had the same problem with his Nikon, using a Mobi Pro card.

Is there some problem with how iOS 9 handles the images that makes them unavailable?

In iTunes I was able to check the usage on the iPad and it showed only the preexisting (IE: downloaded from the internet) JPGs that are on it, nothing from the RAW files I was uploading.

I could use some help.

Hi Boris i have not yet upgraded to ios 9 ill do that now and check things out at my end. a card log may shed some light on whether the card thinks it is doing its thing or not if the log showed the card was working correctly then it would look like an ios thing.

to pull a card log place the card into your card reader and then into a usb port on your pc and not! a usb hub. then right click eyefi helper in the systray and select get card log, save the card log to a safe place on your pc and forward it to me at alanhinchcliffe@hotmail.com and ill check it out for you

Hi Alan,

I'm very curious if you upgrade to iOS 9 what happens. That is the only change with my setup from when transfers happened smoothly.

The log file shows that the peer response for the files uploaded are "ok" 0 which is consistent with what I saw on the iPad, where the files were showing the progress bar for uploading, with the file name. Only thing unusual is that they are not showing up anywhere on the iPad.

Glad to hear that Alan. I updated to iOS 9 a few days ago and I have had no issues with Mobi so far.

Hello Boris,

I am sorry to hear of this trouble.

We have created a support ticket for you, and as Alan suggested we will start with a card log. The instructions for obtaining the card log are in the email we sent you. Please reply to that email with a card log and we will also be testing the issue on our end to see if we can recreate the issue.

Kindly
Adam

I am having the same problem. After updating my iPhone 6 to iOS 9, my pictures appear to be transferring to my phone because I see the progress bar but the images don't appear in my library, either in the Eye-Fi app or in the Eye-Fi folder in my pictures app.

One other note: I had previously removed all images from the Eye-Fi folder on the Pictures App. I moved a picture into the folder and while it didn't fix the problem, the thumbnail image of the Eye-Fi folder in the pictures app was not the the same picture as the one I inserted into the folder.

I am having the same issue on my iPhone on IOS 9.  Files transfer into the eyefi Mobi app, but they do not subsequently appear in Photos.  This happened seamlessly in IOS 8 and was/is a great feature.  Did EyeFi end this feature or is this a bug?

Hello,

Anyone seeing issues with Images uploading to their iOS 9 devices, make sure to Check Settings > Privacy > Photos and make sure Eyefi switch is ON. Can anyone confirm if it was off?

If anyone is on the Mobi app, can they specify and let us know if the Mobi app settings for export are ON under Settings > Advanced.

Please let us know what you can.

Cheers,
George

I also have this problem. Everything was working fine until yesterday midway through a shoot. Uploaded about 37 photos than stopped. Now the card won't connect to the camera, nor will the iPad upload to the cloud.

i would like to see a card log from this card, to pull a card log install the desktop application place the card in its supplied reader then into a usb port on your pc/mac right click the icon in the sys tray and select options to open the options screen and click the down arrow next to advanced, scroll to the bottom and hit the get card log button. save the file to your pc and attach to an email, the process is slightly different on the mac but the idea is the same. youre looking for this window on the mac and more importantly the get card log button.

you can send me a copy of the log if you like and ill take a look for you alanhinchcliffe@hotmail.com

i had a look at the card log and there were no errors in fact the card appears to be working perfectly but had only 10mb of media on it and "uploads not pending" right at the end of the log the media content went up to 52mb and "uploads pending" but it didnt run for long enough for transfers to happen but i can see your device connected to it, try it again and post a new log if you are still having problems.

I am having the same problem with transferring between iPad and Canon 5d mkiii since changing to ios9. The Eyefi app, which used to work perfectly, now connects, shows downloading in progress, completes downloads but doesn't show any images in Eyefi or in iPad Photos. I only just realised there was a forum in existence, but I haven't seen a solution to this here. I uninstalled Eyefii and reinstalled, but same result. My Privacy settings on iPad are set to On for Eyefi.

Alan, thanks for the quick reply. I put the card into the reader and started Eyefi Center. I can see the card and the photos I took. However, when I start the helper the 'Get Eye-Fi Card log' feature is greyed out! I am using Win10 and updated the software on the Pro-X2 card prior to doing this.

try another card reader, if you have the supplied card reader that would be the best bet

ok dug out my old 16gb pro X2 and installed the old app on my iphone running IOS 9 i can get transfers to happen for raw and jpg but the iphone appears to be rejecting the Raw files anyway, they do not appear in the camera roll i havn't tested it but im assuming that raw files would be forwarded to a pc or mac running the eyefi x2 desktop application. what app are you using to open the raw files once they are one the IOS device?

as far as a fix is concerned, with the information i have given i do not work for eyefi and am purely speaking with the knowledge i have from my role within the forums and casual conversations with eyefi staff is dont expect any fixes or updates to the eyefi X2 software or firmware, the x2 cards have not been sold by eyefi themselves for over a year now and its frustrating to see the old x2 cards on sale by 3rd party retailers. eyefi are focusing their efforts on the mobi etc.

I'm using Photos. I can see the JPG files, but the CR2 files don't show up even though the app believes they've been transferred.

Same problem here. 5D Mark III and the 16GB X2 card. Only started happening with RAW files on IOS9. JPGs still work OK. I only shoot RAW, so this renders the card useless for me unfortunately.

Eye-Fi, are you hearing our calls? Can you please advise what the fix is or provide a software update so that the card correctly writes to the Eye-Fi folder? Thanks.
