I just received my EyeFi Mobi 8Gb card. I installed the EyeFi Connect software, and insert the card into my SD card slot. I see a notification that says Initializing Eye-Fi card. I notice that EyeFi connect starts (in Task Manager) but the UI never comes up.
If I end the EyeFi Connect process (through Task Manager) and remove the card, I can start EyeFi Connect, but only get the login option. I cannot 'Create new account'. There seems to be a problem with this card and the software that will not let it load correctly.
If I open the EyeFi Helper menu from the system tray I see the card's MAC address with '(unknown)' after it.
I have tried this on a laptop with Windows 7, and a desktop with Windows 10 and get the same results.
I receive no error messages. The model is mobi 0A00SC08HSF1R. I have version 3.4.26 of the software.

Is this your only Eyefi card ? For mobi cards you need the mobi desktop application however you cannot have both Eyefi centre for x2 cards and the mobi desktop app installed at the same time you will need to uninstall eyefi centre before installing the mobi app

Okay, I can log into that software.
How would I have known the 'Center' software was for X2 cards only? I tried following the directions I received, little as they were.

the link to the x2 software was recently moved to a new page to avoid this confusion and tbh now its buried pretty deep.
you must have downloaded it before the link was moved
i and im sure eyefi are sorry for any frustration this may have caused
let me know if you need any further assistance
Regards,
Alan

Hmm... I downloaded it yesterday. Perhaps instead of hiding it, just clearly define it.

it is defined by small images of each card next to each of the downloader.
the mobi page is linked from the main page here
http://www.eyefi.com/download?m
the x2 apps are now on a completely different page only available from the x2 support page.
https://x2help.eyefi.com/hc/en-us/articles/200398426-Download-Eyefi-Center-for-Mac-OS-X-or-Windows
to get to this link you have to click "support", "X2 support" (while ignoring mobi support), "downloads for windows and mac"
it also has the following text in the instructions for use of this app "If you have a Mobi card, you do not need to download this application."
it would be helpful if you could point us to the page you used to download the x2 app so we can try and ensure it doesn't happen again.
as an aside the main download page was changed as far back as 10 september 2015 to remove the x2 application from that page to ensure people only had access to current Mobi software distributions as you can see from this link.

I ended up on this page:
https://x2help.eyefi.com/hc/en-us/articles/420882
Since it spoke about 'Setting up an Eyefi Card' and I had an Eyefi Mobi card I assumed it was for my Eyefi card. I see now there is an x2 in the address. Didn't realize there was a difference.
Anyway, I got past the original problem, but still can't use this thing. It won't stay connected to my phone or transfer files, and my computer only has a wired network connection. And since the mobi won't connect to my house wifi (which then connects to my computer) I won't be able to sync to my computer. And I don't want to pay a service fee to use somebody's cloud (I have enough clouds).
I will be selling this since I can't return it.

well thats a shame Mark you would have probably been better with the mobi pro which would have been more suitable to your workflow.

Hi I am using an HP Elitebook 2740 tablet. I install the mobi eyefi desktop Windows 7. I check my wifi and it sees the mobi eyefi 32. However when i start the application I have this file error that comes up.
I cannot get past this point and the application won't run. It seems I am missing a file and don't know how I can get this. Can anyone please help me with this. I feel very lost and useless at this point. It runs flawlessly on my Samsung phone. Thank you.

Try running a .NET Framework fix on your Windows 7 computer.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135
also make sure you are running the eyefi app with an administrator account
