  • I’m sad
I have same problem. I went to Yelp office in san francisco. No one help me. I e mailed to them. Yelp responded my concerns : " this is the automatic filter system".
That is unfair. All my good reviews are from real customers, I realy want to meet people in Yelp to show them the evidents. They do not want to help small business like us.
I hate them the most , I will them die soon. " Bad credit" mark will be gone for awhile. But bad yelp review will stay forever, even the business close out.

Can we group together to sue them.
    I am tired of Yelp.

Yes that is true. they are filtering all the good reviews as soon as they are on the website by our valued customer. It is not mandatory that bad review is always a true statement for real customer to analyse. All reviews should be on the same place to review about your business. Now they changed the system to put the filter reviews on the site. even though the most review are extremely good but they are writing "reviews that are not currently recommended". This is really against the buy law. They are not deleting the account even they are getting the automated request form website. They are deleting the all your photos form your account and keeping the account online which is really stealing your business identity and using it for their purpose. I also received and email from one guy and asking about $ 200 month to put the reviews on yelp and giving me a guarantee not to filter the reviews. I am not sure that he was from yelp but he was hiding his identity and only interested to do business form email. but i got the his email just after when i asked about the policies from yelp that i can not delete the account even i got the confirmation from them.

Their are number of people i thing suffering from this problem so that we should together take the action to stop this scam....

New yelp BS now! pay attention!
now instead of naming "filtered reviews" yelp has reviews that are not "currently recommended. That wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for one trick: When you click on that, all the bad reviews come first! so forget about the last 25 reviews that your company had that are good but filtered because you didn't pay yelp the $400/ month they want you to pay because they decided what they want to do is show your bad reviews!
yep, yelp just gets better and better. when is someone going to shutdown this ripoff website?

  • I made a huge mistake by creating my Real Estate Agent listing on Yelp and now they wont de-list my listing. Their Customer Service is run by bullies and thugs. They have 1255 complaints on BBB site yet BBB rates them as A+ . why no one is suing these MFers?

I have been going through this for years. Yes they have called to extort money. And no you can't touch them. People have tried to sue them. I finally just let it go. Some customers are aware of their practices. Some I have made them aware of it. Yes they are assholes and there is nothing we can do about it.

Same boat here. Bunch of good reviews "filtered".
I just let it go and started sleeping better.

  • Good advice, Olivia and Winston. Ignore Yelp and you'll be better off. Just run your business to the best of your ability and forget the rest. In my experience Yelp is a big, fat ZERO factor in my success. I started ignoring my Yelp page last year and sales have still increased beyond expectations.

    I'll say it again:

    1. Yelp WILL NOT remove your listing. Don't even ask. The more you ask, the more you will be punished with more positive reviews being shoved to the filter.

    2. There have been dozens of lawsuits filed against Yelp. Internet communications laws have not kept pace, and Yelp is very good at hiding its corruption, so very few suits have succeeded. One law firm (McMillan Law) did win a suit over its contract, but Yelp punished them by filing a revenge suit claiming they wrote their own reviews.

Sure it's tough to ignore, but do it anyway. It gets easier over time. Focus your energies on things you can control, be happy and prosper!

  • Change your business name, because that is the only way to get rid of them. You may even have to get a new phone number as they will call your business to see if you are still there. Insane, and brilliant. They cannot (so far) be sued.
